Garden in a Pocket

a blog about writing and reading

Just Back from the Local Authors' Fair at Loudoun's Cascades Library

Not many readers braved the all-day drizzle to come to the book signings and readings, but we had lots of authors.  As a community, children's book writers are so generous, willing to share their tips and their joy in the face of the long odds of selling books and reaching readers.  Joining SCBWI--best career move ever.

LIstening to guest speaker Tina Nichols Coury (Hanging Off Jefferson's Nose), I realized that despite a dozen books to my name, I'm still such a neophyte when it comes to marketing.  She suggests devoting an hour a day.  When am I supposed to write the next book?  But I am taking her suggestion and starting a blog.  Welcome!
